FAQ
Does my micro-enterprise need to comply with e-invoicing?
Yes. From September 1, 2026, all VAT-registered businesses — including micro-enterprises and self-employed — must be able to receive electronic invoices. The issuance requirement starts September 1, 2027.
Will a simple PDF sent by email still be valid?
No. The reform requires a structured format (Factur-X, UBL or CII) transmitted via a government-certified platform. Standard PDFs, paper or Word invoices will no longer be compliant for B2B transactions.
What Is a Certified Platform (formerly PDP)?
A certified platform (formerly PDP) is a private platform registered by tax authorities to issue, receive and transmit electronic invoices. Since the Public Invoicing Portal (PPF) was abandoned in October 2024, using a certified platform is the only option. Each company must choose one before September 2026.
What is e-reporting?
E-reporting is the transmission of transaction data to tax authorities for operations not covered by e-invoicing: sales to individuals (B2C), intra-EU deliveries and exports.
How much does compliance cost?
The cost depends on your current setup: invoice volume, existing software, flow complexity. La Homline offers a free assessment to evaluate the work required and provide a tailored quote.
How long does it take to become compliant?
Allow 2 to 8 weeks depending on your environment complexity. The sooner you start, the smoother the transition. We recommend beginning the assessment at least 3 months before the deadline.
